Ingredients:
- 500g ground beef
- ½ cup homemade bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- ½ small onion, finely chopped
- ½ tsp salt
- 4 tbs dry Ranch-style dressing mix *
- ½ cup ketchup
- ¾ cup tomato puree
- 2 tbs cider vinegar
- 1 cup cola beverage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 tsp Vegeta Natur or similar seasoning
- ½ tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
- *Homemade Ranch-style dressing mix
- 2 tbs dried parsley
- 1 tsp dried dill
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp dried basil
- ½ tsp pepper
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, onion, salt and Ranch dressing mix until well blended. Leave to stand for 5 minutes.
- Shape into walnut-size meatballs, and place on a baking sheet. Makes around 23 meatballs.
- Bake for 30 minutes in the oven at 190˚C, turning them over half way through
- Meanwhile combine ketchup, tomato puree, apple cider vinegar, cola, onion, bell pepper, Vegeta, pepper and Worcestershire sauce.
- Remove meatballs from the baking sheet and place in a suitable pan, cover with the sauce.
- Cover the pan and cook for 1 hour on very low heat.
- Serve with green salad.
- Homemade Ranch-style dressing seasoning mix: mix well all the ingredients.
