Ginger Puffs

Ingredients: 2 cups Sifted all-purpose flour,1 teaspoon Baking powder,1/2 teaspoon baking Soda,1/2 teaspoon Salt,2 teaspoons Ginger,1/2 teaspoon Allspice,1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon,1/2 cup Shortening, soft,1/2 cup Shortening, soft,1/2 cup Brown sugar, firmly packed,1/2 cup Brown sugar, firmly packed,2 Eggs,1/2 cup Light molasses,1 cup Cooked oatmeal, cooled*,1 cup Cooked oatmeal, cooled*
Instructions:

  1. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt and spices into bowl.
  2. Add remaining ingredients. Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets.
  3. Bake in preheated moderate oven (375 F.) 12 to 15 minutes.
  4. Remove from cookie sheets; cool.
  5. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar, if desired.*NOTE: Cook Quaker Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked) according to package directions.
