Apple Persimmon Sauce

Ingredients: 2 persimmons, peeled and cubed,6 apples, peeled and cubed (I used granny smith),1 Tsp. ground cinnamon,¼ Tsp. freshly ground nutmeg,1 cup water,1/3 cup dark brown sugar,1 Tsp. fresh lemon juice
Instructions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium pot and bring to a boil.
  2. Cover and reduce heat to medium low. Simmer for 25-30 minutes.
  3. Mash apple sauce with a potato masher until its your desired consistency.
  4. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
  5. Can also be frozen and stored for up to a year.
