Manhattan Sweet Potato Mash

Ingredients:

• 2 pounds sweet potatoes, washed and unpeeled
• 1/3 cup whipping cream
• 2 tablespoons butter
• 1/4 cup bourbon
• 1 tablespoon sweet vermouth
• 1 teaspoon sugar
• 1 teaspoon orange zest
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• Pepper, to taste
• Dried cherries, to taste
